Lieutenant Chuck Merrill

Lt. Chuck Merrill began his career with the Bal Harbour Police Department in 1981, at the age of 19 as one of the Village's first Public Service Aids. Soon after he became a Patrol officer, and after a few years of service, was promoted to the rank of Corporal a supervisory position

Two years later, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and enjoyed that for the next 14 years. Most recently, with the rank of Lieutenant; he is assigned to Special Operations and is in charge of the department's fleet.

Lieutenant Merrill is a Miami Beach native, having graduated from North Miami Beach Senior High in 1980, attended Miami-Dade Community College, and graduated from the Florida Keys Community College/Police Academy in 1981.
